I've been doing some practice with zbrush. It has been a lot of fun digging into it. I'm just using a trial version which is almost due. I'll have to save up for a full licence me thinks.

Sketch Dump
These are some sketches from my sketchbook. I just snapped the images with my phone so the picture quality isn't the best. Thanks for looking!

Sketchy01
Some sketching I did on my Lenovo tablet. Trying to get used to the tablet with painter. I used the 1 pixel pen brush and the oil pastel for the little painting in the second one.

Floating Island Ruins
Here is some 3D! I worked on this awhile ago. I Thought I would get it posted up instead of it just sitting on my computer. I have been meaning to get it all textured up and looking polished. I just have the geometry to show right now so it's still a work in progress. Thanks for looking :)

Zbrush practice
I've been learning zbrush. This is one of my first sculpts after I started to get the hang of things. Looks kinda like a young Col. Sanders or a hairier version of Patrick Stewart :p It's been fun learning the program. I can't wait to really dig in deep with it.

Porsche Carrera GT
We worked on a racer at my work 4 or 5 months ago. Earlier in development the game started out realistic. The game changed to a more cartoon style later on. I decided to do some nice renders in maya of one of the realistic style cars I worked on.
There are some more images on my website www.artofmattwood.allyou.net

3D Floating Island
This is a small part of a larger 3D project I have been working on the last few months. This is just to showcase the rocky cliff shader I made for the island part. I am happy with how it turned out. I did a combination of digital sculpting and painting for the normal maps and textures.
This is the shader network for the rocky cliff material. It is built using a layered shader. I feel like I've just scratched the surface with this stuff.

Paintings for my parents
These were painted for my parents for christmas. The Sailboat image was painted for my Dad. He recently sold his boat. It was called the New Dawn. I have a lot of fond memories sailing with him and my brothers on the Great Salt Lake. I thought it would be a fun way to commemorate his boat and the good times we had. The beach painting was for my Mom. She loves the beach. When I visit her in California visiting the beach is something that we always do. I put the images on some coffee mugs and gave them to my parents as Christmas gifts. I enjoyed painting them quite a bit. Thanks for taking a look.

Fisherman Paint Study
Another paint study. This one was a little more challenging. I think I have the environment stuff down fairly well. I need to work on people and characters a lot more.
